NABARD Supported Skill Development Training Program On “Hand Embroidery” launched in Mahadevpur and Kharsang

6th August 2021: On the eve of National Handloom Day celebrations, NABARD launched 02 Skill Development Programmes on “Hand Embroidery” for Rural Women of Mahadevpur and Kharsang of Namsai & Changlang District respectively on 06.08.2021

The programmes were sponsored by the National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (NABARD) and implemented by NGO, Bethel Life Care Charitable Trust (BLCCT).

A total of 30 rural unemployed women each from Mahadevpur & Kharsang area will undergo training on Hand Embroidery. The training program of one month has been arranged in such a way that women attendees could start their own ventures.

General Manager, NABARD, Partho Saha participated the inauguration of both programmes as Chief Guest. In presence of DDM NABARD Kamal Roy, President BLCCT Chandan Prasad, SDO Rakesh Rai and trainees.

DDM NABARD, Kamal Roy briefed on Skill Development Training for the benefit of rural women and SHGs. SDPs are on-location skill development training programmes with the objectives to provide wide range of skill development training to rural youth with job opportunities, identification and fostering existing business models for increased rural employment to benefit aspiring rural entrepreneur, to improve income level and livelihoods and also to contribute to the economy by setting up of rural enterprises, reskilling/up skilling of existing workers/ artisans in the traditional sectors etc.

SDO Rakesh Rai advised the rural youths to implement the skill for starting a successful entrepreneurship and congratulate Bethel Life Care Charitable Trust for implementing such demanding skill development training in Kharsang, he also ensures administrative support for establishment of own entrepreneurship.

GM NABARD, Partho Saha also emphasized the scope and importance of skill training that would enhance the socio–economic status of rural masses, especially women entrepreneurs. He congratulated the beneficiaries for utilizing the opportunity through SDP Training, explained the support mechanism to SHGs so that after successful completion of the training they could start their own ventures.

Bethel Life Care Charitable Trust, Founder President Chandan Prasad explained the training will enable the rural women to improve their skill in producing indigenous design. The skill development will empower rural women for better income and self-sustenance, he added.
