Bordumsa, 24th March 2022: The Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) on Food processing and Bakery products concluded at Namleng Village, Bordumsa, District Changlang on Thursday, 24th March 2022. The programme was sponsored by NABARD, Arunachal Pradesh Regional Office, Itanagar and implemented by Changlang Community Resource Management Society (CCRMS).
More than 30 members from different SHGs formed under NERCORMP had undergone the training and learned about different bakery products viz. cakes, pastry, muffins, cupcakes, donuts, cookies etc. along with the proper method of packaging and selling it in the market.
MEDPs are on-location skill development training programmes by NABARD, which attempt to bridge the skill deficits or facilitates optimization of production activities by the SHG members.
DDM, NABARD, Kamal Roy, graced the valedictory function as Chief Guest and Zila Parishad Member (ZPM), Bordumsa Block, Khachang Miao, as Guest of Honour. DPD CCRMS, Nonju Tithak, SMS, Community Science, Nani Chaniya and SMS, Horticulture, K. Bemkaireima from KVK Changlang also participated the programme.
The Chief Guest of the occasion, DDM, NABARD, Kamal Roy, informed different developmental programmes of NABARD viz. MEDPs, LEDPs, SDPs, Rural Mart, Rural Haat etc. for the benefits of SHGs and farmers.
SMS, Community Science, Nani Chaniya spoke about uses of preservative in food processing and requested home makers to come out of home. This will lead to women empowerment in the region.
SMS, Horticulture, K. Bemkaireima, highlighted different activities of KVK, which has been completed successfully with the help of SHGs.
DPD CCRMS, Nonju Tithak congratulated all the participants for successfully execution of the MEDP training programme. The daily updates given by WhatsApp, which was created to monitor the progress of training programme was impressive. She asked trainees to supply the finished products, which will be kept in Rural Mart and Rural Haats supported by NABARD in the different corner of the district.
ZPM, Bordumsa Block, Khachang Miao, motivated the SHGs to take up activities in serious manner for sustainable income generation and to be competitive in market, especially in terms of pricing and quality. He said that wider dissemination of information will cater good participants in this kind of trainings.
The programme was ended with distribution of summer season vegetable seeds viz. bottle gourd, cucumber, ladies finger, cowpea beans, sponge gourd etc. by KVK, Changlang to SHG members.
