NABARD sponsored MEDP on Food Processing for SHGs concluded at Jairampur

Jairampur, 7th January 2023: The Training Programme on “Food Processing / Pickle Making” for SHGs of Jairampur, Changlang District under the Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) was concluded here on Saturday.
The programme was sponsored by NABARD, Arunachal Pradesh Regional Office and implemented by NGO, R.K. Mossang Memorial Society (RKMMS).
A total of 30 SHG members have undergone 15 days of training which was arranged in such a way that women attendees could start their own ventures.
District Development Manager (DDM), NABARD, Kamal Roy attended the event as Chief Guest; Block Mission Manager, ArSRLM, Nampoong Block, Rani Linggi as a Guest of Honour; Chairperson RKMMS, Komoli Mosang along with SHG members also participated in the valedictory programme.
DDM NABARD, Kamal Roy congratulated the SHG members for completing the training. He urged them to maintain the quality of the pickles and other food products. He highlighted the importance of FSSAI license for food products and obtaining permission from the legal metrology department for their weight machines and get it checked and certified.
He emphasized the production of finished products with market linkage keeping competitive prices. Further, he congratulated RKMMS for implementing the training successfully and also advised SHG members to frame a business model and start production on a small scale.
BMM, ArSRLM, Rani Linggi, congratulated the trainees on the completion of MEDP training and also encourage them to become entrepreneurs now. She emphasized the scope and importance of skill training that would enhance the socio-economic status of rural masses, especially women entrepreneurs.
Chairperson RKMMS, Komoli Mosang, thanked NABARD for the financial assistance and requested SHGs to start livelihood activities and earn an additional source of income for their respective families.
The valedictory programme was concluded with certificate distribution to the trainee SHGs.
