NABARD Backed MEDP Empowering Women's Ventures in Bakery and Food Processing Inaugurated in Miao:

Miao, August 19, 2023: A momentous inauguration of the Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) centered on Bakery and Food Processing marked a significant step forward in Miao, situated within the Changlang District. This auspicious event unfolded on the 19th of August, 2023.

Generously sponsored by the Arunachal Pradesh Regional Office of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), this pioneering initiative is poised to be actualized through the devoted efforts of the Bethel Life Care Charitable Trust (BLCCT).

A select group of 30 dedicated members from diverse Self-Help Groups (SHGs) hailing from the M-pen and Kharsang localities have been meticulously chosen to partake in the comprehensive training program. This educational endeavour shall equip these individuals with the adeptness required for producing a varied assortment of bakery products, coupled with the art of skilful packaging and effective marketing strategies.

The pedagogical curriculum has been thoughtfully designed to empower the women participants to eventually establish and lead their own entrepreneurial pursuits. Spanning a duration of 15 days, the training regimen has been crafted with precision to ensure the acquisition of essential proficiencies for crafting an array of delectable cakes, breads, buns, patties, cookies, and the like.

Distinguished luminaries who graced the inaugural event include Kenny Riba, the Block Mission Manager of Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM); along with Chugan Nokbi, the Livelihood Block Coordinator. Additionally, the esteemed presence of Mr. Chandan Prasad, the esteemed Founder and CEO of the Bethel Life Care Charitable Trust, and Mr. Woiwang Ronrang, the diligent Project Manager of BLCCT, further enriched the proceedings.

In his articulate discourse, Kenny Riba, the Block Mission Manager of ArSRLM, expounded upon the overarching mission of MEDPs, elucidating their pivotal role in nurturing the competencies and capabilities of SHG members, thereby fostering the cultivation of micro enterprises.

Addressing the attendees with a warm welcome, Woiwang Ronrang, the sagacious Project Manager of BLCCT, underscored the program's noble intention to augment production capacity while adhering to exacting quality standards. The discernible demand for food processing and bakery offerings within the region has ignited this strategic endeavor, aimed at bestowing rural women with enhanced income prospects and self-sufficiency.

Articulating his insights on the MEDP scheme related to Food Processing and Bakery, Chandan Prasad, the Founder & CEO of Bethel Life Care Charitable Trust, delved into the program's structural framework, expounding on its meticulously planned day-to-day training modules and their intrinsic significance. Encouraging a profound dedication to these endeavors, he emphasized the importance of sustainable income generation and competitive prowess within the market, particularly concerning pricing and product quality. This progressive undertaking stands as yet another beacon of women's empowerment, inviting SHGs to harness this invaluable platform to its fullest potential.
