Jairampur, Oct 07:

Jason Khangthing, a recognizable name in Changlang district has been able to create a niche for himself in this competitive world of 24x7 news coverage through his distinct coverage of local news.

Born in 05 Febuary 1996, Khangthing did his schooling from Tangsa Model School and passed out his senior secondary from Govt Higher Secondary School, Jairampur.

A resident of Nongtham village under Kharsang circle, Khangthings family consist of three more members, father, mother and younger brother.

Khangthing did his graduation from Indira Gandhi Govt College, Tezu. He passed out in 2017. He was fortunate because soon after graduation he joined an upcoming media house, Arunachal Today.

12/06/2017 witnessed the rising of a young video and photo journalist from Changlang district. By joining the journalism stream, Khangthing would become the first video journalist from Tangsa community. He is responsible of covering three districts, Tirap, Changlang and Longding.

For others it may be little awkward, but for a community that has negligible inclination towards such reputed profession, it is a big moment, a moment of celebration.

Since joining the profession, Khangthing has been flashing the region in state level with many inspiring stories of indigenous struggles.

On 14 July 2019, he added another reputed tag to his name, he was appointed as Joint Secretary of Northeastern Human Rights Organisation (Changlang unit).

Khangthing shared, "I joined journalism with a solitary intention to serve the society and rise and help the needy and desperate people."

In any profession, being the first to join is a huge responsibility because the following generation will tread upon the footprint left behind by him. He said, I understand the responsibility that rest on my shoulder and I will work hard to fulfill those responsibilities with grace and dignity.
