Bakery Training for SHGs Successfully Concluded in Bordumsa

Bordumsa, 11th January 2024: A comprehensive training programme aimed at empowering SHGs in bakery skills concluded successfully at Namleng Village, Bordumsa, on Thursday. The Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP), sanctioned by NABARD, was skillfully implemented by the Changlang Community Resource Management Society (CCRMS) in collaboration with the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM).

The valedictory ceremony, marked by a certificate distribution program, witnessed the presence of CO, Bordumsa, S. Roy, and DDM, NABARD, Kamal Roy. Notable attendees included DPD, CCRMS, Nanju Simai Tithak; BMM, Jasmina Tankhu, ArSRLM and enthusiastic trainee SHG members.

Designed to empower women participants in establishing and leading their entrepreneurial pursuits, the 15-day training regimen covered essential proficiencies for crafting a variety of bakery products, including cakes, bread, buns, patties, and cookies.

In her welcoming address, DPD, CCRMS, Nanju Simai Tithak, highlighted the programme's objective to skill rural women in bakery products for micro-enterprise development. Emphasizing the potential for increased income and self-sustainability, she underscored the importance of skill training in enhancing the socio-economic status of rural women.

DDM, NABARD, Kamal Roy, elaborated on the aims and objectives of MEDP, an outcome-based programme. He shared insights into the SHG bank linkage programme and explained the Panchutra (five principles of SHGs). Encouraging SHGs to establish their brand and focus on packaging, he stressed the importance of backward and forward linkages. NABARD's commitment to empowering SHG members through skill development and competence building was reiterated.

CO, S. Roy, congratulated the SHGs and encouraged them to continue practising, ensuring the improvement of bakery product taste. He highlighted the potential of MSME in bringing development to rural areas, advising SHGs to maintain quality and reasonable pricing. Assuring full support from the District Administration, S. Roy reiterated the commitment to positive outcomes in the region.

ArSRLM's BMM, Jasmina Tankhu, congratulated the trainees and urged them to embrace entrepreneurship. Recognizing the significance of skill training in elevating socio-economic status, particularly for women entrepreneurs, Tankhu emphasized its role in fostering positive change.

Trainees expressed gratitude to NABARD, CCRMS, and ArSRLM for conducting the training in their village, eliminating the need to travel outside the state for such opportunities. Mino Singpho received recognition for outstanding sample-making, while Rupjyoti Chowlu was honoured for her dedication as a sincere trainee, encouraging other SHGs to approach future training programmes with similar commitment.
