NONJU TIKHAK A YOUNG PROFESSIONAL FROM TANGSA COMMUNITY

Nonju Tikhak, people may not recognize her by her face but folks from grassroot level are familiar with her name. Thanks to centres flagship programme called NERCORMP III where she serves as Business Development Officer that has made her household name in Changlang district. 

Born in Miao, Tikhak is the daughter of late Yan Tikhak who was towering figure of Tangsa tribe. Tikhak began her educational journey from Govt Higher Secondary School, Miao.

She completed her senior secondary from Donyi Polo Vidya Bhawan Mission School, Itanagar. She was a multi talented students and during time she won gold medal in fine arts, badminton (single and double), 100 metre running race and dance and choreography. All these awards reflects her multi talented persona. 

She did her graduation (BA Major) from Handique Girls College, Guwahati. After graduation, she completed her Diploma in Fashion Designing from NIFT, New Delhi. 

After completing her diploma, she realized in the North East as well Arunachal Pradesh the scope for fashion designing industry was non-existent at that time. So enrolled and completed her business studies in Retail Management Programme from FDDI, Noida. Simultaneously, for job security she pursued another course. 

Soon she got placed in Racquet Sports Division (Winner Sports Pvt Ltd) under Future Group as a brand executive.

Tikhak's team managed the international racquet brands like Wilson & Prince. She was also handling Planet Sports retail outlets pan India. She also got the opportunity to organise  a badminton tournament with Jaypee Integrated Sports Complex in Greater Noida which earned her an appreciation letter from Mahesh Bhupathi Team Tennis, Delhi.

While she was managing Chennai Open with her team where Wilson was an apparel partner and Aircel main sponsor, she was called back home by her family. 

After reaching home, she didn't sit idle, she joined as principle of Green Lawn School where she also taught English. Two years later, she bagged the job as Subject Matter Specialist (Maketing) under ATMA with District Agriculture Department and was posted to Changlang district from 2011 to 2014. 

While she was serving as Subject Matter Specialist, central governments flagship programme NERCORMP III was launched in 2014 in Changlang district. She joined NERCORMP III as Business Development Officer in 2014 and since than she has been serving the local community members in promoting their products (craft and cuisine) through many retail outlets called Rural Mart & Rural Haat in convergence with NABARD.

She has also sponsored a local football club and  junior badminton club called the Changlang Football Club and Multi-purpose Club to motivate and encourage the young boys and girls in the field of sports.
