In alignment with the State Government's 'vocal for local' drive, NABARD is actively supporting the GI registration of indigenous products in the state. Leveraging the expertise of Dr. Rajni Kant, a Padma Shri awardee and a distinguished specialist in this domain, NABARD is advancing this vital initiative.

To date, NABARD has provided financial support for the GI registration of 18 indigenous products spanning textiles, handloom, food, and agriculture sectors. In the initial phase, three distinguished products—Arunachal Pradesh Khamti Rice, Arunachal Pradesh Yak Churpi, and Arunachal Pradesh Tangsa Textile—have been bestowed the esteemed GI Tag by the GI Registry in Chennai. "This accomplishment is a moment of great pride, and NABARD remains committed to furthering similar initiatives," stated a senior official from NABARD's Arunachal Pradesh Regional Office.
